3 Ways to Finance Dental Care, Even With Bad Credit

3 Ways to Finance Dental Care, Even With Bad Credit 3 Ways to Finance Dental Care, Even With Bad Credit 3 Ways to Finance Dental Care, Even With Bad CreditPayment plans, special credit cards, and bad credit dental loans can all help you afford the oral care you need. It’s easy to avoid going to the dentist, especially if you don’t have a ton of extra cash to shell out for a cleaning. But avoiding the dentist can lead to a much larger bill down the line when you end up needing a filling or, worse, a full root canal.Even with dental insurance, you’re going to end up with a very sizeable bill after a major dental procedure. At that point, the question becomes: How are you going to pay for it?If you don’t have a lot of extra money, or if you have bad credit, you probably can’t pay for the whole thing out of pocket. Instead, you’ll have to find another way to finance your visit. Here are your options.1. Payment plansMany dental practices have payment plans that allow you to pay off the cost of your procedures a little bit at a time. Assuming that you cannot pay the full amount up -front, payment plans are hands down  your best option for financing dental work. These payment plans have something you won’t find with any other form of dental financing: zero percent interest. Since this isn’t a loan or a credit card, you won’t end up paying more in the long run than you would have paid up front.Unlike a loan or a credit card, payment plans won’t be reported to the credit bureausâ€"unless you default on your payments and it gets sent to a collections agency. But while not having your payments count towards your credit score isn’t ideal, the zero interest is worth the trade-off.2. Dental credit cardsThis is another payment option offered by many dentist offices. It’s not as good an option as a straightforward payment plan, but it has its benefits.Instead of letting you pay off your dental procedure a little bit at a time, the office will help you submit an application to a financing company. If you are approved, you receive a credit card that you can us e to pay your bill. You then pay off the credit card through monthly payments. With a dental credit card, your monthly payment should be pretty small, usually something like two to three percent of your total bonus plus a $10-$15 monthly minimum. If you are on an incredibly tight budget, this can give you a lot of breathing room. But those low monthly payments have a downside. Paying only the minimum payment every month means that it could take years to pay off your full balance. And taking that long to pay off your dental procedure means paying a ton of money in interest. That’s because, compared to regular credit cards, dental cards have a high APR. In 2017, Time.com cited a rate of 26.99 percent, which is over 10 percent more than the average credit card rate.On the plus side, those payments will be reported to the credit bureaus, which means that it could end up helping your credit score (or hurt your score if you can’t pay). But honestly, those extra payments on your credit re port aren’t worth the extra interest. If you decide to go with a dental credit card, don’t let those low monthly payments lull you into a false sense of security. Make sure you pay more than your minimum payment every month. It’s the same as using one of your regular credit cardsâ€"which might be preferable to using one of these dental cards, depending on whether you can fit the full cost onto your card. With credit cards of all kinds, the more you pay every month, the more you save overall.3. Bad credit dental loansDental credit cards have a much higher acceptance rate than regular credit cardsâ€"which is generally true of any store-specific card. Still, if you have bad credit, the odds that you’ll be denied for one of these cards is much higher. In cases like this, you’ll probably have to take out a bad credit loan in order to pay for your dental work. These loans come with much higher rates than standard personal loans, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be a good fi nancial solution. When you’re looking for a bad credit loan to pay for dental work, make sure you steer clear of no credit check loans. These are products are offered by lenders that don’t care at all about your ability to repay your loan. In fact, they might stand to make more money if you can’t pay your loan on-time.To learn more, check out our blog post: Payday Loan Rollover: How Short-Term Loans Turn Into Long-Term Debt.Common no credit check loans include title loans and payday loansâ€"which are sometimes referred to as “cash advance” loans. These are small-dollar, short-term loans that usually have to be  paid back within a few weeks or a month. They have incredibly high APRs, often between 300 to 400 percent, but sometimes much higher. They are exactly the kinds of loans you should be avoiding when looking to pay for dental work.Instead, you should look for a bad credit installment loan that lets you pay your balance off over time. These payments will be larger than t he monthly minimum on your credit card, but they’ll be much smaller than the payments for payday and title loans, which generally require that you pay the loan off all at once.Make sure you find an installment loan that’s amortizing so that the amount you’re paying towards interest grows smaller over time. And if the lender runs a soft credit check during your application process, even better. That means that they care about your ability to repay the loan the first time, instead of just rolling it over.Lastly, check to make sure that this lender reports payment information to the credit bureaus. If you’re going to spend a year or more making payments on your loan, you should at least get those payments added to your credit history. After all, the best bad credit loans will help you fix your credit so that the next loan you get will come with a lower rate.Other options for lowering the cost of dental care. The first thing you should do is get dental insurance. It is much cheape r than medical insurance, and good a plan will dramatically lower the cost of dental care.  No one loves paying their insurance bill every month, but we can guarantee that you’ll hate paying the full cost of your root canal even more.Another option is visiting a dental school and letting the students be the ones to give you care. If that makes you a bit squeamish, well, we can’t really blame you. But they will be doing these operations under close supervision, and the cost of the whole thing will be a fraction of what you’d pay at a regular dentist. You can even talk to your dentist about getting a discount for paying them in cash. Many businesses, including dental practices, are willing to charge less for a service in return for cash payments!Lastly, a great way to avoid large dentist bills is … to go to the dentist regularly. Preventative care is way cheaper than restorative care, so we recommend you choose regular cleanings over the occasional root canal. The only thing we won’t ask you do to is to floss regularly. Come on now, we’re not madmen. To learn more about handling medical costs when you have bad credit, check out these related posts and articles from OppLoans:How to Finance a Medical Emergency: An OppLoans eBookDoes Medical Debt Really Go Away After Seven Years?Want to Avoid No Credit Check Loans? The Controversial Conversation Of Abortion - 745 Words

Even though the controversial conversation of abortion somewhat prohibits the open talk of there being other reasons that would make abortion essential and sometimes critical to the health of the mother. There are several reasons women are seeking and have sought abortions and were denied or otherwise restricted to laws and/or regulations. Rebecca Traister, senior editor of New Republic magazine, wrote in an editorial about her pregnancy and in her twenty fourth week (which in New York is the point of no return if you weren’t considering keeping the baby) she had thoughts of concern that if there were medical, fiscal or some other event that would cause more damage to not abort. This was a worry of hers, not only for herself but for other women who never had a chance, or choice, at all. Traister wrote of speaking out for those unable to have access to the proper resources to bring another life into the world saying, â€Å"should some medical, economic, or emotional circumstance,† change the â€Å"fate† of her baby then â€Å"[her] rights, [her] health, [her] consciousness, and [her] obligations to others† take precedence over that of the â€Å"unborn human inside [her].† Traister continued by mentioning that the discussion surrounding the topic of abortion has become distorted with the issue passing total privilege to the fetus and giving no cause for concern over the mental, physical or otherwise well-being of the adult woman. Can An Atheist Support Intelligent Design - 1145 Words

Can an Atheist Support Intelligent Design? Intelligent design is an extremely controversial subject. It has been debated in schools, churches, and even personal conversations. Intelligent Design is the theory that supports the idea of an intelligent being existing as the creator of certain aspects of the universe and biological life. It does not go as far as to try to identify this intelligence, it just notes its presence. Knowing the definition of Intelligent Design, it seems impossible that an atheist could believe in it. But since the intelligence is not specified, Intelligent Design is not strictly a religious belief. There obviously cannot be one opinion for the entire atheist community, but can Intelligent Design be supported by atheists? To answer this question a good understanding of Intelligent Design is essential. As stated, it is the belief that life or the universe was created by an outside being or intelligence. The said intelligence does not have to be a god. Who or what created life is up to the belie ver. People can believe in different creators but still support the same Intelligent Design theory. Intelligent Design (ID) just acknowledges that the universe was created by something and not randomly formed. Many scientists, along with non- experts, believe in ID because biological structures are so complex and suitable for life it seems that they would have to be carefully designed. This may sound similar to creationism, however it is veryShow MoreRelatedThe Design Argument : The Theory Argument1608 Words   |  7 PagesThe Design Argument In the past hundred years, a great debate has shaken the foundation religious and scientific beliefs of society. Negative Music and the Effects on Human Behavior free essay sample

Schoenberg music caused listeners to feel uncomfortable and irritated. However, he became the pivotal composer of the early twentieth century and today he is considered one Of the greatest composers of that century. The music ushered in an era of negative music in Western classical music that lasted for over fifty years. His theory was eventually accepted by composers throughout the Western world and was taught in the finest music schools. The result of all this was the incorporation of negative music into TV programs and movies.Negative music is used to rate emotions of suspense, terror, anxiety, and fear. It is the music that accompanies crime programs and horror films. The same kind of music that concert audiences rejected because of the feelings that the music invoked became standard TV fare, and for the very same reasons (5). I never thought about the idea that scary and suspenseful music was a break from the norm. We will write a custom essay sample on Negative Music and the Effects on Human Behavior or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page It is obvious though that it changes behavior in people. Just watch a horror flick with a friend. You will both know when something horrible is going to happen. The learned behavior from the music stimulus ranges from sliding jack in your seat, to covering and closing your eyes. The music tells you something bad is coming and you know how to respond to it. Western classical music was the first style of music to incorporate negativity. The next step in the evolution of negative music was its introduction into rock music in the late sass. The first hard rock and heavy metal music was produced by the rock group called Blue Cheer somewhere around 1967. Their music was angry and had a noticeably heavy beat..At this time, the music of the Rolling Stones, too, became harder and angry, with a negative accent. Many other groups sprang up during this period. In truth, hard drugs, mixed with psychedelics were having an effect. The world was witnessing a new phenomenon: musical groups of young men opening doors to the psychic world through the use of drugs were using electrified instruments to bring in a new music that was harmful to the human psyche, destructive, and angry (2). The turning point for the new music came when the group Led Zeppelin was formed. As the book Hammer Of the Gods points out, the members Of this group were constantly high on every kind of drug imaginable. When they oared, they vandalized hotel rooms, throwing TV sets and furniture into the streets. Very young girls were tied up and customized, group members taking turns, and a photographer from Life magazine, assigned to photograph Led Zeppelin as they toured, was nearly raped by band members in a hotel room. Yet Led Zeppelin became the most popular group of its time. In fact, a whole generation was raised on its music.Throughout the 1 sass, the music of Led Zeppelin was the anthem of American high school kids. For many people raised during this period, demeaning the music of Led Zeppelin is a desecration oaf most sacred cow (3). The last three decades of the twentieth century saw negative rock music spread and popularized throughout the entire world. Heavy metal music became an accepted culture and is now almost an ancient music when it is compared with the newer forms of negative music that have since emerged. It is unfortunate and sad to say, but the children of the sass have been spoon-fed on the most negative and insolent music imaginable. Please consider what is taking place, and who is being affected. If you listen to the radio carefully and use your powers of discernment to gain a sense of the degree of negativity in the music that you ear On the radio and TV today, you will find a great deal of the music that is lacking in positive influence. Pop music has gone down hill so much since its heyday in 1954 that the difference is shocking. In 1954, the songs of the top forty were positive, reinforcing, and romantic. There are some great singers today, but there is also a lot of really inferior, mediocre singers and music that expresses little in the lyrics, and nothing emotionally except perhaps for anger and hatred. And so many people have gotten used to mediocrity and ugliness in music that it isnt even noticed anymore (2). Hard rock, heavy metal, trash metal, hardcore, death metal, gangs rap, and the like have repeatedly been proven in experiments to have a detrimental effect.David Hearer, a 16 year old at Nanosecond River High School, conducted an experiment that sharpened his theory that hard rock taints the brain. Using 72 male lab mice, he separated the mice into 3 groups of 24: a control, classical, and a hard rock group. After weeks of putting them through the same maze at an original average time of 10 minutes, the control group shaved 5 minutes from the beginning time, the classical group knocked 8 minutes off, but the hard rock averaged 30-minute completion time, a considerable difference. The fact that 72 mice were tested makes his results more valid because of the larger sample size. Most noticeably, the hard rock mice did not sniff the air to find the trails of others that came before them. Herself first experiment failed because the mice were not put in separate containers, and the hard rock mice killed each other (4). Lyrically violent and musically negative songs increase aggression related thoughts and emotions. In a series of five experiments involving over 500 college students, searchers from Iowa State University and the Texas Department Of Human Services examined the effects of seven violent songs by seven artists and eight nonviolent songs by seven artists. The students listened to the songs and were given various psychological tasks to measure aggressive thoughts and feelings. One such task involved participants classifying words that can have both aggressive and nonaggression meanings, such as rock and stick. The study also included songs with humorous lyrics to see how humor interacted with violent song lyrics and aggressive thoughts (1). Results of the vive experiments show that violent songs led to more aggressive interpretations of ambiguously aggressive words, increased the relative speed with which people read aggressive vs.. Nonaggression words, and increased the proportion of word fragments (such as h_t) that were filled in to make aggressive words (such as hit). The violent songs increased feelings of hostility without provocation or threat, according to the authors, and this effect was not the result of differences in musical style, specific performing artist or arousal properties of the songs. Even the humorous violent songs increased aggressive thoughts (1). The violent-song increases in aggressive thoughts and feelings have implications for real world violence, according to lead researcher Craig A. Anderson, Ph. D. Of Iowa State University. Aggressive thoughts can influence perceptions of ongoing social interactions, coloring them with an aggressive tint. Such aggression-biased interpretations can, in turn, instigate a more aggressive response -verbal or physical than would have been emitted in a nonbiased state, thus provoking an aggressive escalators spiral of antisocial exchanges, said Dry. Anderson (1 The study investigated precursors to aggression rather than aggressive behavior itself.

Developing a Fair Compensation Plan essays

Developing a Fair Compensation Plan essays There are many factors to consider when developing a fair compensation plan. Internal and external equity are key considerations for offering comparable salary and benefits. Internal equity refers to fairness between employees in the same company while external equity refers to relative wage fairness compared to wages with other businesses. In addition to wages, it's important to determine what affects an individual's motivation. In this effort, expectancy theory can be applied. Expectancy theory is based on three perceptions, valence, instrumentality and expectancy. This paper describes the steps to achieve internal and external equity as well as high levels of motivation and cautions of the repercussions for failure to do With regards to internal equity, job descriptions, job analysis and job evaluation help employers compare different jobs and create fair compensation. Job descriptions define the responsibilities, requirements, functions, duties, location, environment, conditions, and other aspects of jobs. Job analysis is the process of analyzing jobs from which job descriptions are developed. Job analysis techniques include the use of interviews, questionnaires, and observation. Data should be gathered from executive management for all departments as well departmental managers and employees. Last, but not least, job evaluation is a system for comparing jobs to determine appropriate compensation levels for individual jobs or elements. Common techniques include ranking, classification, factor comparison and point method and are summarized as follows: Ranking: Compare jobs to each other based on the overall worth of the Classification: Group jobs into an existing grade/category structure Factor Comparison: Identify factors determining the worth of jobs such as skill, responsibilities, effort and workin ...
